The Energy Tariff incentive Program 2.0 (ETIP) is an expansion of the Electric Tariff Incentive Program 1.0 (ETIP) to cover gas tariff in addition to Electricity Tariff for the industrial sector based on the eligibility criteria that includes economic impact, spending on logistics and the demand side management efficiency along with the energy management efficiency in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi. The program aims to support the private industrial sector by enhancing their economic impact and thrust their productivity by offering preferential Gas and Electrical  rates to promote competitiveness in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi.

Yes, the program is designed for all Entities both New and Existing with or without production status under different ETIP program parameters. Separate application is processed as applicable for New or as Existing company. One company can be eligible only under one category as “New” or “Existing” based on approved definitions of New and Existing Company.

This program is an expansion of the initial Electric Tariff incentive program where preferential gas rates has also been included. Manufacturing entities can choose to opt for Electricity only, Gas only, or both Electricity and Gas.

The existing application for electricity and validity of certificate still stands. Entities can opt for certification of the gas incentive using the same financials and data that was used for electricity. The only evaluation required will be for the Demand Side Management which will consider the variable 20% in the scoring. The certification dates will be unified towards the existing Electricity incentive so that when reapplying, the entity can apply for both Electricity and Gas together under the new Energy Tariff Incentive Program.

No, all existing certificates will be active until their expiry. You can apply for energy tariff incentive program upon the expiry of your certificate. No same financial statements can be used to apply for multiple ETIP certificates. The only way to apply for Energy Tariff Incentive program is if the entity is new to the program or applying for Gas incentive addition to their existing certificate.

- Economic Impact
- Supply Chain
- Connectivity Load 
- Energy Management System
- Demand Management Side

Yes, the above parameters apply for both New and Existing Company. However, Existing companies will be evaluated on productivity. Further the criteria requirements of the economic impact for NEW entities is far lower, therefore promoting the initial setup of factory in Abu Dhabi.

The Manufacturing Entities may contact any or all of the Certifying Bodies independently for receiving the preferred quotation and select any Certifying Body of their choice.

Yes, it is mandatory that you submit all these documents as applicable for New or Existing companies for formal evaluation process. The Certifying Bodies may also request for any additional verification documents as needed for the evaluation of the ETIP application.

A valid industrial license is mandatory for any ETIP application. Manufacturing Entities must renew any expired licenses before applying to the ETIP program.

As part of the Energy Tariff Incentive Program- ETIP, ADDED has empaneled the Certifying Bodies to evaluate and verify all ETIP applications under the Program (A list of certifying bodies is provided in the User Guideline for ETIP and also posted on the website https://idb.added.gov.ae/en/incentives/etip/cb).
Manufacturing entities should visit the website of ADDED and submit their ETIP application online for evaluation purpose. All required documentation are required to be uploaded on the ETIP portal for verification by IDB.

You will receive a system generated ETIP Enrolment Certificate and Evaluation Score Card mentioning the score and category approved under the ETIP Program.

IDB will issue an enrollment certificate to the Energy Tariff Incentive Program determining the category placement based on the final score. If the application score is below 50 points the entity will not be qualified for the reduced tariff as applicable for the qualified category. The Manufacturing Entity will be required to submit the online ETIP Enrollment certificate to ADDC/ADDC/ADPC for availing the benefit of reduced tariff under the program.

The applicable Distribution Company will check the final approved single line diagram for verifying the Electricity Connection Load for the project site. Please note the actual consumption quantity is NOT being checked for the scoring but the approved Connection Load is taken into consideration for the project site. 
For example: If the total consumption over the year is greater than 43,800MWH, then it is almost certain that your supply connection has a 5MW capacity.  However, the electrical drawings provide the actual evidence. 
Also, the supply capacity of several sites cannot be combined for one application.

The certificate validity is 1 year where the start is the date of issuing the certificate and the end is the expiry date of the certificate. The program is designed for 5 years.
