The report indicated that during the first quarter of this year, 61 reports of serious occupational accidents within the industrial sector were received by the Environment, Health and Safety Department, and the Industrial Development Office carried out 205 field visits to assess the performance of the industrial sector 137 within the framework of the office’s role in industrial control. The administration recently issued a report in this regard indicating that during the first quarter of this year it received and reviewed 47 annual external audit reports from the concerned industrial establishments, to ensure that these reports are subject to the high technical standards required to ensure the implementation of the OSH system and work on development and improvement. According to the report, the administration is working in cooperation with the Environment Agency in Abu Dhabi to count greenhouse gas emissions from the industrial sector. The department also monitors the procedures for electronic linking between the industrial licensing system and the control system for the movement of hazardous materials in cooperation with the Environment Agency in Abu Dhabi, with the aim of tracking the movement and quantity of hazardous materials that are used or produced in industrial facilities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
