Muhammad Munif Al-Mansouri, Executive Director of the Industrial Development Bureau, said that this decision comes within the industrial sector sustainability project that the department is implementing, whereby industrial establishments retrieve secondary industrial products and incorporate them into industrial processes by adding material recovery activities left over from factory production lines, in a way that contributes to reducing burdens.
These establishments shall have the financial resources to dispose of these materials as industrial waste. He pointed out that the decision also allows industrial establishments to sell by-products that are not utilized to other industrial facilities in the emirate to be reused as an industrial input, providing an additional financial return for these establishments.
He added that the decision also aims to expand industrial activity in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and to make full use of raw materials within the manufacturing processes and reduce waste generated by the industrial sector.
More than 600 industrial establishments operating in the field of metallurgical, aluminum, plastic and chemical industries are expected to benefit from this decision.
